Utility/Underground Obstruction permits are required for all new utility work being done in the City of Cannon Falls by private entities. This includes fiber optic cable, water and sewer utility extensions, and electrical wires, both underground and overhead.

Excavators, which includes homeowners who are completing excavation work, throughout Minnesota are responsible for notifying Gopher State One Call of proposed excavations. The call center will notify participating underground facility operators, so they can mark the location of their facilities.
