Administrative Assistant License and Permit Technician

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Answering phones and transferring calls
  • Working with GIS mapping system
  • Preparing and issuing liquor, massage, excavating, refuse hauling and tobacco licenses
  • Assigning and processing sign, excavation and fence permits
  • Assigning and processing sign, peddler and fireworks licenses
  • Assisting with processing building permits, responding to building permit inquiries from residents and contractors
  • Assisting with zoning inquiries
  • Preparing and issuing public notices for Planning Department
  • Filing notices with the county
  • Assisting the City Administrator

Minimum qualifications include:

High school diploma or GED and moderate experience in an office or customer service setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience; and certification as a notary public within six months of hire date. 

Pay range $21.18 to $26.83 per hour depending on qualifications, plus benefits.
